Let’s talk about feminism

Feminism refers to the belief that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men, equality of measures on everything ranging from giving equal rights to a woman to paying bills. The kind of definition that everyone might agree to but let’s just forget this definition for a speck second and understand what really is feminism. Delhi Metro provide women a whole coach and not only that but also 2 - 4 seats in all coaches. Out of so many reserved seats if a woman leave her seat to offer it to a guy because at that point of time she know who needs it more. That’s feminism. Treating everyone equally. A feminazi might come in front of that woman to make her feel guilty and get the seat from the poor guy because after all the seat says "For ladies only" and that’s where the difference lies. Feminism is now more into women rights and no more into giving equal rights. People have no idea whether they are feminist or feminazi and talk about rights. Rights, equal rights and all the other top talks.
Feminism in India was started with a noble cause but now it’s totally a different thing, a rough structure of freedom. Women talk about equality and about getting as much as men from the society. There is not even a single right given by law that men have that women don’t. Not even a single one. On the contrary, women have many rights. Just an allegation of rape/dowry can destroy the life of a man and his family.
We live in a country where poverty and illiteracy is so high. There are still girls who never saw school in their lives. Rural areas are still struggling for sanitation as they don’t have access to toilets. Child marriages are still happening and in every major city there is a red light area where women are used as an object but who cares?
I believe that there are real challenges being faced by countrywomen that need to be tackled, and the feminist movement was established to face up to those very challenges so, better to have a clear idea of feminism before becoming one.
